One of my favorite things about photographing families with young children is the unpredictability of the whole thing. I have an idea about where I want to go and backdrops that might work best with the lighting at that time of the day. Then, when the kids get involved we roll with it while trying to creatively engineer shots that make the families, and me, feel good. It can go really fast, even if we do not cover a lot of area. There can be breakdowns, happy smiles, snack breaks, big falls and diaper changes… all in a mini shoot. It is so much fun.
This was the Boros family’s first mini shoot with me, being that they recently moved here from the sunshine state. What an awesome day to have them in front of my lens (after postponing due to snow the week before). I grew up with the gorgeous mom, had met the handsome dad and was thrilled to meet her two tykes. My favorite shots from this session are when Zoe is being a big sister to her brother on the swing, Zoe is cuddling with her mom for comfort, the family shots along the water, and the father daughter session at the tire swing. That being said, I all around love this shoot and hope you do to.
