Here is a little about this portrait session, the editing and what we hoped to achieve with the images.
We were looking for a spring feel on shoot day. They wanted family shots, intimate moments with mom and dad as well as some of the toddler/baby alone. At times it seems like our little friend had other ideas but we all adjusted and made some special moments happen.
The session was done at Wash Park and as any Denverite knows, that park is never empty. I spent some time editing out the people and the signs, the trash cans and anything else that took your attention away from Dad and his little girl.
The light was flat and filtered by the full cloud cover, which has its positives and negatives. On this day it was great because I shot pretty close to noon and I did not want those harsh shadows on my clients faces. I added some light vignette to create some dimension and brightened the greens to give the spring look we wanted.
The top image is the FINAL edit, the middle is the image coming out of lightoom and the first one is straight from the camera. As with any portrait session, if you want this kind of time spent on an image you see in your online gallery, just ask and if I still have the files I am happy to do it! A small editing fee applies but it is worth it if you are sending the image our or planning to print it.
