Fall in Colorado is unpredictable. You can count on that. One week is is hot and bright, the next it is completely overcast and foggy. Just when you think you have leaves for miles, it will snow and they all fall to the ground floor. Colorado weather can be unpredictable, but it is fun to embrace whatever it is and shoot!
So, what can you expect for a mini shoot?
I pick the spot, you pick the time and I shoot all day at the same location. It is often I location I would like to study and use in future portrait sessions, SO, I am using the “minis” as test sessions.
Early morning and late afternoon the light tends to be the most dynamic. Mid day gets bright and I will be chasing shadows and backlighting shots.
It might be cold, it might be windy. If it is too cold or windy and I can not shoot, I will let you know and give you the chance to reschedule. This does not happen often. I shoot year round outdoors and work to make it happen.
No matter the reason, there are no refunds for cancelled or missed shoots. If you can’t make it, you will need to find a replacement.
AND… as far as the kind of shots you will get, that is really up to the day, the site, and you. I aim to give you a full variety of groupings, backgrounds, and perspectives.
After the shoot, your images come in an online gallery and on a photo CD. You can download straight from the site. There are no additional edits for these sessions, they are discounted for a reason. I shoot, edit, upload, and move on. There will likely be a few black and white images, otherwise they will be all color shots. Some portrait and some landscape formats.
Here is one example of a fun, family mini shoot from the end of September. Sessions were all day in Boulder, Colorado.
