“A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss… That’s the trade-off. But I’ll take it all.” – Brad Pitt
If you believe in birth order, this crew might throw you for a loop. Typically, the oldest is “the overachiever”, middle child is called the “peace maker” and the youngest is “the life of the party” (reference). Day three of Lily’s adventure into this world, she might be the most easy going baby ever. She takes the crawling on, kisses from the pup, and general attendance to by her siblings… all in stride. She might turn out to be a party animal, but for now she is taking it all in with grace. Her older brother is pure ham… he is funny and fearlessly excited to get moving at 11 months old. It is hard not to want to squeeze his cheeks and check out his one little tooth. Then these is the oldest, Ivy. She is a really good big sister. She gets silly but understands she is the voice of reason with two littles ones at foot, making incomprehensible chirps and screams. She was a quick friend of mine and I am excited to see the kind of adult she becomes.
Only time will tell who fits what birth order paradigm, if any. What I can tell you is that this crew will have a good time figuring it all out.
