Thursday Class: April 21st from 7:00-8:00 p.m. + Field Trip Sunday April 24th 3:00 p.m. $125
Students are invited to a photography practice field trip with Laurie in Stapleton at the on Saturday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m. Bring your camera to class and to the field trip, please also make sure to bring your favorite subject! (kid) If you have no one available to come that afternoon we will practice by taking pictures of each other.
You should have a very basic understanding of how your SLR camera works to get the most out of this class. Beginners are encouraged, but you will benefit greatly by knowing manual settings skills and a bit about aperture and shutter speed (or at least where to find those controls on your camera). Bring your manual in case you need to look something up. We will be working with mostly natural light, outdoor and natural settings, and “Lifestyle” type portraiture rather than stiff poses. If you have an external flash or reflector, please bring that to the field trip. For examples of this style of children’s photography, visit my children’s portrait site: www.coloradochildrensphotography.com
We will go over: lighting, angles and composition techniques, ways to engage your subject, problem solving and lens choices. There will not be hand outs so bring your own pen and paper if need be. Class does not cover editing.
After the field trip there will be an online site for you to upload your images and share with the other students.
EACH CLASS IS LIMITED TO 5 STUDENTS. All students will be invited on the practice field trip. In the case of inclement weather, we will try to reschedule for Sunday, March 15th.
