Newborn photo shoots are something I have always liked but in recent years I have grown to LOVE.  There is something so very special about capturing a new person working through their every day issues, with their support team all around.  If it is the family’s first child, I love the way their shoulders rise if they are nervous holding their small bundle.  Or, the pride you see in their eyes… even though they are tired and overwhelmed.  Everyone knows it can be hard to manage a child in those first few weeks, but no one knows how it will hit them until it is their time.  I love capturing the tiny feet and hands in a way that shows how small they really are.  I aim to get some shots where the baby is on their own in a single portrait so you have a solid image for an announcement or print.  If the baby has a nursery, it can be good to capture it in those first few days because it might never look the same again!  The effort some put into that space should be celebrated, it can be where you spend a lot of time.  I will get some family shots and some with your pets, should they want to participate.  Sessions take no more than 2 hours so you are not rushed AND you can stay invested because it won’t take your whole day (some newborn photo shoots can be 4-6 hours)!!!
