I love the 365 day Project. It is as complicated as you make it. You can share your images on Facebook, Flickr, Shutterfly, or on your Blog. OR, you can take images for yourself and work on getting better. Look at the composition, study your use of backgrounds and lighting. The 365 is a project that encourages you to shoot consistently for whatever reason.
If you always photograph children, you might turn your camera around and refocus on something else. Look for details in the everyday. Find interesting architecture and shoot it from all angles.
If you strive to be an artistic photographer you need to stay in touch with what motivates you. In my case, that can be just about anything. My background in architecture seems to bring me to photograph structures in spaces that create emotion. I love building details and urban planning principles when done with intention and carried out with passion. I work to take photographs that tell a story and create a sense of place.
