I realize that my daughter Ellie will not remember this trip to see Santa.  She will also not remember the next few times we take her or any of the details we put into this season.  But, this is not really about her, not yet anyway.  Right now we are establishing our OWN family traditions.  With a three month old, a pup and two grown adults with no religious affiliation to guide our holiday freetime, we decide.  So, with Christmas music warming our home and melting snow outside…  our list is pretty simple.  Christmas card, check.  Christmas decorations, of course.  Trip to see Santa, CHECK.  Christmas PJS, done.  Friends over for Christmas Eve, soon!  Wonderful meals planned, on it.  Christmas day and dinner with family, can’t wait!

This holiday is uniquely ours, and each year I hope it gets better as our family traditions evolve and our daughter grows.  It is a special time.
