I like to shoot at your home, in your space, with backdrops that are meaningful to you. I hope you tell your family stories about where we did the photo session and how surprised you were at the end product. Getting the shot is fun, editing to where I want it to be can be a challenge.
In this case, I am editing photos based on a photo my client showed me that had a blown out background and was framed by curtains. I want the emphasis to be on her silhouette so subtracting out everything distracting is important. While I could have done some interesting things in color, and with the first image, the image that resulted from my edits is much closer to what my client wanted (and I like) and that is the goal. We’re all happy, yahoo!
