Wedding Party – Group Portraits

{Photography Tips and Observations}

When photographing a bridal party it is important to stay focused and get things moving. While of course we want to see the other people in a photograph, at a wedding the most important people are the bride and groom. While there is a time and place for a traditional shot, and those have to happen… a fun alternative shot is to take the other people “out” of the shot so they are not distracting. Have the wedding party turn around and bring the couple forward. Lighting can be tricky and composition can take your image from good to great. Turning your camera to highlight angles in the architecture or emphasize a hierarchy can be an important trick.
