Winter Family Portraits in Vail

“Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.” » Anthony Brandt

Capturing dogs in their element can be really cool.  And challenging.  They are going to move a bunch, they are going to want to explore, and they are not always up for looking at the camera, but I am not sure they are much different from kids in this regard.  They are themselves, they are present in the moment and that is a gift.

We did this session on the east and then west side of Vail, right around Thanksgiving.  The snow came and went and the resulting landscape was just gorgeous.  The light was bright, even early in the day, but we made it work with lifestyle shots, backlit poses, and the old standby… sunglasses.  Here are a few previews from this family session for four.
